A fully functioning immune system is what helps to keeps your children healthy.

Natural Health Magazine.

The immune system is what your child’s body uses as its defense mechanism against infectious organisms and other foreign invaders.  Most of the time, the immune system does an excellent job of keeping you healthy.  On occasion however, it can run into trouble which may lead to infections and illnesses.

There are different ways to help to strengthen the immune system of our kids.

IT ALL BEGINS WITH GOOD NUTRITION!

Micronutrients have vital roles throughout the immune system that are independent of life stage, and it has been determined that those most needed to sustain immunocompetence include vitamins A, C, D, E, B2, B6 and B12, folic acid, beta carotene, iron, selenium, and zinc [1]. There is a bidirectional interaction among nutrition, infection and immunity: the immune response is compromised when nutrition is poor, predisposing individuals to infections, and a poor nutritional state may be exacerbated by the immune response itself to an infection [2]. It is clear that optimal immunocompetence depends upon nutritional status [3].

It’s critical that we help to optimize immune function  to help to fight infections and diseases through nutrition. Fruits and vegetables are very good sources of vitamins and minerals. However, Sometimes fruits can be expensive and not readily available.

Another source of vitamins and minerals is the Peak 456 Growing Up Milk with DHA. Peak 456 Growing-up milk is rich in nutrients and antioxidants.  Antioxidants are molecules that fight free radicals in the body. Free radicals are compounds that can cause harm if their levels become too high in your child’s body. Peak 456 can help children 4-6 years old with providing important nutrients for optimal growth and development, and it also provides

brain & immune- supportive nutrients.

Peak 456 provides a strong combination of anti-oxidants and vitamins: beta-carotene, vitamin E and C, Zinc , Selenium, Manganese, vitamin A and D. These components can help to strengthen the body’s natural resistance.

In addition, Peak 456 has added prebiotics called Fructo-oligosaccharides. Prebiotics are non-digestible food components belonging to the fiber family that can stimulate growth or activity of a number of good micro-organisms in the intestinal flora (e.g. Bifidobacteria, Lactobacilli). A healthy intestinal flora can help to optimize immunity[4].
